NIYU AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERDS & DACHSHUNDS

Super EXCITING NEWS!!! As of March 2026, I have met all the requirements to become
an AKC Breeder of Merit for Australian Shepherds!!!!!

Our Aussies ~ Our Dachshunds ~ Litters ~ Available ~ Bred By Champions

My Kennel name NiYu is named after my first two AKC Registered dogs, Nitro Lei (Dachshund) and Yue (Australian Shepherd) which now is very fitting considering I am venturing into the world of well bred show dachshunds! I have been raising Wellbred Australian Shepherds since 2019, and have had limited litters since than. My last Dachshund past away in 2019, after having them my whole life, while I was in the Hospital for my car accident (2023), where I was left widowed, & I decided there was no time like the present to finally get back into it, and with help, I have found some really incredible breeders to work with, and I am so excited for what the future holds for both my Aussies and Weenies!

In 2026 I have met the distinction of becoming an AKC Breeder of Merit, within the Australian Shepherds, which is quite the accomplishment, considering I have had very few litters, and 3 out of 4 of the titled dogs are children of our foundation Bitch Yue! the 4th is her Grand Daughter! I couldn't have done this all by myself it took a Village <3 my late sister Tiria Alcala, who I got to pick her brains, and have conversations of what ethical Dog Ownership and Breeding looks like, Pat Zapf of Shadomoon Aussies for mentoring me through all my COUNTLESS QUESTIONS lol! Noelle Blair for the early education, Friendship, training classes and Evaluating Puppies. Hannah Davis for letting us Bring our girls to your incredible boys, and for further mentoring (I needed all the help I could get lol) and for handling Chester to his Championship. All of our Wonderful Owners and Handlers, I appreciate you all <3

TIRZA ENGLISH SETTERS (Links finally working)

GCH CHEZA ~ GCH FLAIR ~ GCH SIBYL ~ GCH OSCAR

On October 8th the English Setter Community and Dog Show World lost a shining Star, Grand Valley Kennel Club Member Tiria (Griffith) Alcala in a horrific car accident. Tiria was an avid dog lover and enthusiest from a young age, she would tell our dad, that she wanted her "own dog",in 2001 she got her first dog a husky mix named Molly, followed by a Border Collie, in 2007 named Shema (aka "Poo Dog"). Tiria started 4H and made a lifelong mentor and friend in Noelle Blair and her love grew, into one of a preservation breeder and well bred purebred enthusiast. Tiria aquired her first English Setter in 2012, from Suzie Bosshart who took a chance on a newbie, Tiria was ecsatic with getting Cheza, Group Placing GCH CH Benmer's Blue My Mind RN, her first real Show dog, and mentored under Suzie Bosshart, and Christy Marley-Johnson. Cheza was Tiria's first Dog to finish, certainly not the last. Tiria became a staple at not only our September Dog Show, but Dog Shows around the country. Tiria only had two Setter litters, On her first Litter, She became lifelong friends with Shaun and Donna Jordan. Tiria's accomplishments included Breeding & Showing many AKC Champions, including 2 Reserve Best in Show Winners, Multiple Specialty Best of Breed Winners and Group Winners, Winners Dog and Best Puppy by at the ESAA National, as well as many Junior Hunter titled English Setters, her latest love was training in the field with Oscar and the girls, she had a firm belief that they should be doing what they were bred to do. Tiria is greatly missed by all who knew her, and the void she left behind is unfathomable. Tiria's Dogs Sibyl and Flair are forever loved by Tiria's Mom, Dad and sister, we recently lost Cheza and Darcia. Oscar will be hitting the Show ring with Carlos to honor Tiria's legacy. We believe Tiria has made an incredible impact on the Breed she was so passionate about.
